Auston Matthews marks his return to action with a goal

Very quiet evening in the NHL last night, when only six teams were in action.

The Devils faced the Rangers, the Blackhawks were in Toronto and at the end of the evening, the Stars visited Utah.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. Welcome back, Auston Matthews!

After a long absence, Auston Matthews was finally back in action for the Maple Leafs.

What’s better than scoring the first goal of the match?

What a pass from William Nylander on the sequence!

Mitchell Marner also played a strong match. He collected two assists in his 600th NHL game.

Toronto made short work of Chicago by a score of 4-1.

2. Jack Hughes accused of wanting to embarrass Igor Shesterkin

With the Rangers, things are not going very well.

Indeed, they just lost against the Devils. They have now lost six of their last seven games.

Their victory during this sequence was acquired against CH…

Yesterday, the Devils made short work of New York by a score of 5-1.

Jack Hughes was even accused of wanting to embarrass Igor Shesterkin after the match. His reaction was very funny.

Here is the sequence where he tried to “embarrass” the opposing goalkeeper:

The New Jersey star finished the game with two goals and an assist.

3. Already a 500th match for Mikhail Sergachev

Former Canadiens and Lightning Mikhail Sergachev reached an important plateau last night.

In fact, he was playing in his 500th NHL game.

Unfortunately, the Stars played spoilsport by winning by a score of 2-1.

It was another former CH player, Evgenii Dadonov, who opened the scoring in the second period.

And at the end of the period, Jamie Benn doubled his team’s lead.

It was the winning goal.

At the end of the meeting, tempers heated up.
