The Limousine animal is 6 years old and raised in Vienne. She will be at the center of the next event scheduled from February 22.
Oupette, a six-year-old Limousine cow raised by a farmer from Vienne, will be the face of the next Agricultural Show in Paris, from February 22 to March 2, 2025, the organizers announced on Friday. After Ovalie and her little ones in 2023 and Oreillette in 2024, it is Oupette who will sit in majesty at the Parisian exhibition center at Porte de Versailles, during the 60th edition of the show. The new muse has a bright wheaten dress and a puff-shaped hairstyle that inspired her first name from her breeder, Alexandre Humeau, it is emphasized in a press release. She is expecting her fourth calf, which should be born by the end of the year and accompany her to the living room.
Son and nephew of breeders, its owner is at the head of a 430 hectare farm. Alexandre Humeau grows almost all of the feed for around a hundred Limousine cows there, it is specified. Their meat is partly sold directly. “I can’t wait to come and share my love for the Limousine breed, and to transmit the values of the agricultural world to visitors to the show”underlines Alexandre Humeau, quoted in the press release. “Raising animals is a vocation. But it is also a very demanding profession. This is the message that I want to convey to the public, as I do every day with my children” he adds.
Attendance at the show fell slightly in 2024, with 603,652 visitors (-2%). The opening, on the first day, was delayed due to the ruckus caused by farmers, who forced a gate and disrupted the visit of the head of state.
