Adisq and UQAM sign a memorandum of understanding

MONTREAL — Adisq has signed a memorandum of understanding with UQAM to increase collaboration between the two institutions.

As part of this agreement, the Quebec Association of the Record, Show and Video Industry and the University of Quebec in Montreal wish to carry out several joint projects and, they say, promote the Latin Quarter of the metropolis.

They point out that several cultural organizations will soon be established in the neighborhood, including Adisq in 2025 and the National School of Humor in 2026.

“This proximity to UQAM will allow an interesting network between the Uqam community and the members of Adisq. The synergy that is developing in the Latin Quarter will make it an ideal place for emulation and ideation,” underlined Eve Paré, general director of Adisq, in a press release.

The Latin Quarter has been affected by several closures recently, including the iconic Archambault on Berri Street.

Adisq and UQAM have already started several projects together, including training and working groups on music at the university and internships in the musical association’s area of expertise.

“Adisq and UQAM see this agreement as an opportunity to collaborate in the development of skills and the professionalization of the music industry, in addition to promoting the music of Quebec and its richness among students who attend the Latin Quarter, form today’s public and contribute to its vitality through their strong cultural tastes,” the organizations indicate in their press release.
