In the Assembly, two deputies almost come to blows during the LFI niche

The MoDem deputy Nicolas Turquois went up to the left to violently attack the socialist Mickaël Bouloux, who pushed him away with his hand. This is not the first time that the Macronist has attacked one of his colleagues.

This is a new incident which should mark the spirits. This Thursday evening, around 10:30 p.m., a violent altercation took place in the Hemicycle of the National Assembly. While tempers were heating up around the proposed law to repeal the pension reform of the Insoumis, the MoDem deputy Nicolas Turquois suddenly got up from his seat to attack one of these colleagues. While the session had been interrupted for a few seconds, the parliamentarian approached the socialist Mickaël Bouloux, violently taking him to task. “My family was threatened! And these are people from your village!”he shouted at him, red with rage, pointing at him menacingly a few centimeters from his face.

At first impassive and sitting in his chair, the PS deputy ended up getting annoyed. Then frankly got angry, pushing away Nicolas Turquois' arm which was close to his face. The president of the MoDem group, Marc Fesneau, then intervened to remove Nicolas Turquois, continuing to shout at the socialist. Some rebellious deputies then got involved, like Antoine Léaument or Thomas Portes. The MoDem deputy then once again appeared threatening towards these two colleagues, but his group president intervened again. Out of it, Nicolas Turquois was finally taken out of the parliamentary enclosure by several deputies, including Marc Fesneau.

The president of the MoDem group apologizes

About fifteen minutes later, the session was finally able to resume. The socialist Arthur Delaporte then asked that the office of the National Assembly be contacted to sanction Nicolas Turquois. Before Marc Fesneau took the floor to say that he “regretted” the actions of his colleague. “The MP in question will explain this in due time… There was no act of violence. (…) These are things that happen”he explained, to the dissatisfied cries of the rebellious deputies. The LFI deputy Antoine Léaument immediately denounced “threats” of the Macronist, judging that if colleagues had not intervened, he would have “took a donut”.
