En partnership with the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and supported by SECO Economic Cooperation and Development (SBIF), this event co-organized with AI Crafters brought together thought leaders, experts and entrepreneurs to explore opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the national Digital Morocco 2030 strategy.
During this conference, discussions focused on the following three axes:
– Digital Strategy 2030: The debates highlighted the crucial role of SMEs in Morocco’s digital transformation, exploring how AI can help them optimize their operations, develop innovative models and remain competitive on a global scale.
– Change management and talents: The speakers underlined the importance of mobilizing teams and strengthening their skills to successfully integrate AI into companies.
– AI security and ethics: Emphasis was placed on the importance of a robust regulatory and ethical framework to prevent AI-related risks, such as algorithmic bias and cyberattacks, and to ensure responsible and inclusive adoption of this technology.
“The EBRD strives to be a catalyst for digital transformation for Moroccan businesses. Through our initiatives, we aim to equip SMEs with the necessary tools to reap the benefits of artificial intelligence while strengthening their resilience. This event marks an important step towards an inclusive and sustainable digital economy,” underlined Ghassane Bouhia, Principal SME F&D Manager at the EBRD.
For her part, Khouloud Abejja, director of digital transformation at ADD, affirmed that “ADD is actively committed to supporting Moroccan SMEs in their digital transition, by providing them with programs to overcome challenges and take advantage of the opportunities offered by Digital and Technologies, such as AI”.
For her part, Nihal Djebli, General Director of AI Crafters, declared: “We firmly believe that artificial intelligence is a strategic lever to allow Moroccan companies to reinvent themselves. Our mission is to support them in this transformation, by providing them with practical tools and innovative approaches, while ensuring that this evolution remains aligned with ethical and responsible principles.”
The recommendations made during this event relate in particular to:
– Strengthening public-private partnerships to democratize access to advanced technologies.
– The integration of the principles of fairness, transparency and accountability in AI projects.
– The creation of training programs adapted for SMEs to enable them to fully exploit the potential of AI.
