Black streak in Geneva: a scooter rider between life and death

Terrible black streak in Geneva: serious accidents involving scooters have been increasing since mid-October. This Thursday, shortly after 7 a.m., near 39, rue du Vidollet, next to the Varembé stadium, a two-wheeler and a car collided. The scooter was traveling in the direction of Avenue Giuseppe-Motta, the car was moving in the other direction. It appears that a head-on collision occurred. The driver of the car (1972) was slightly injured, but the driver of the two-wheeler (1976), who slid several meters with his vehicle, was seriously injured. According to Henny Martinoni, police spokesperson, his life was in danger when he was taken to hospital by ambulance. According to a witness to the accident, a cardiac massage was given to him on the spot by the emergency services.

This fall is proving to be catastrophic for bikers. Over the past five weeks, four have lost their lives on the roads of Geneva: October 19 in Eaux-Vives, October 21 in Satigny, October 24 in Bernex, and November 1 in Veyrier. Not counting the accidents of November 2 in Plan-les-Ouates, and of November 15 at Quai Gustave-Ador, in Eaux-Vives, following which the vital prognoses of two two-wheel drivers were initially committed before ‘be lifted.
