Former Senegalese president Abdoulaye Wade left Dakar yesterday afternoon aboard a private jet heading for Paris according to Les Echos. This trip, carried out in relative discretion, raises questions about the reasons for this trip.
In the small delegation which accompanied him, included the doctor Colonel Fall and Dr Sohibou Ndiaye, two health professionals close to the former head of state. Also present were his security chief, Baye Moussé Ba, nicknamed “Bro”, and his deputy Abdoulaye Dièye. However, Me Abdoulaye Wade’s wife, Viviane Vert Wade, seemed absent from this trip. Despite an extensive search, details on the nature or purpose of this movement remain unclear. Abdoulaye Wade remains an emblematic figure on the Senegalese political scene, even at the age of 97.
