Champions League – D5: The Mastiffs’ notes after Bologna FC – LOSC

For Lucas Chevalier's hundredth in colors, LOSC wowed his audience by overcoming Bologna in Italy (1-2), at the Renato-Dall'Ara Stadium, as part of the fifth day of the Champions League. Here are the grades we give to the Mastiffs at the end of this meeting.

Lucas Chevalier (6) : He wasn't called upon a lot but he was decisive with a nice double save at 0-1. He can do nothing about the beautiful Italian goal from a free kick.

Thomas Meunier (4,5) : For his first start since his injury in , the Belgian international struggled to get into the rhythm, often being caught behind his back and being technically imprecise. He didn't give up, however, even if he let go of his player behind his back for the equalizer.

Bafode Diakité (7) : What a match from the third Lille captain, who was uncompromising and particularly in his positioning with Alexsandro, in the management of offside and the opponent's long balls.

Alexsandro (7) : The Brazilian central defender continues to get along well with his partner, between space management, coverage, duels and restarts despite Italian pressing.

Gabriel Gudmundsson (7) : The Swedish international is in great shape and is confirming it month after month from now on, both defensively and offensively where he is doing very badly with his breakthroughs. He even allows himself unusual technical gestures, such as a large bridge of the head.

Ayyoub Bouaddi (7) : This Champions League is his competition and he intends to impress from match to match. Technically easy, in the ability to resist pressure but also to project himself, he was essential and he could even have scored his first goal after a superb breakthrough at the end of the match.

Benjamin André (7.5) : As usual, the captain had difficulty getting started, but once he got going, he was running at full speed and without a drop in pace. Absolutely everywhere, he has a vital influence for his young teammates.

Ngal'ayel Mukau (8.5) : It was his evening and he shone in an unusual role as playmaker. Double scorer for his first achievements in the professional world, he was hardworking on all aspects to both support Jonathan David and help his midfielder ground.

Matias Fernandez-Pardo (7.5) : For his third start, the former La Gantoise is still doing just as badly with his excesses, his races and his speed where he manages to make a huge difference, like this rush where he comes up against the opposing goalkeeper. But his constant efforts are rewarded by this decisive pass for Lille's second goal.

Jonathan David (6) : The Canadian international wasn't having a great day technically but what an effort he made to come and offer solutions to his teammates. And he was decisive in opening the scoring by recovering the ball and serving Mukau perfectly in the area.

Osame Sahraoui (5) : The Lille number 11 has not had his best match since his arrival but his technical quality in small spaces has been useful in sequences to keep the ball. He got in tune with the team defensively, not shying away from the effort.
