After 37 years of effort and ten in vitro fertilizations, a 61-year-old woman gives birth to her first child.
Her immense hope of becoming a mother will finally have borne fruit. A 61-year-old woman in North Macedonia went through 10 in-vitro fertilizations and 10 miscarriages in 37 years of marriage, finally giving birth to a healthy child she named Petar. She is the oldest mother in Macedonia to give birth for the first time.
But her pregnancy was not easy: “She suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes, but the rest of the pregnancy went well. She arrived with high blood pressure, but when we stabilized her, we decided to give birth by cesarean section“, explains Irena Aleksioska Papasiev, the director of the gynecology clinic where she gave birth to the child.
“The woman underwent in-vitro fertilization with her own egg, which she had frozen when she began having and treating her infertility problem“, specifies the director.
Both mother and baby are in good health. They returned home happy with their 65-year-old father, knowing that their biggest dream had come true.
