Caution on the road: warning of freezing rain in several regions

Road conditions will be difficult during rush hour Tuesday morning due to a weather cocktail that will bring freezing rain to southern Quebec.

The freezing rain warning issued by Environment Canada concerns around fifteen sectors, while the southeast will not be left out with a “brief period of freezing rain which will change to rain”, we can read in the bulletin weather report.

“This morning, freezing rain is expected. The situation could persist for several hours until early afternoon,” the federal agency said.

On the island of Montreal, freezing rain will begin early in the morning before turning into rain later with maximum temperatures of 5 degrees.

On the northern fringe of Montreal, we can expect some accumulations of 2 to 4 centimeters of snow, particularly in the Laurentians, according to the federal agency.

On the other hand, in western Quebec, snow will arrive this Tuesday with accumulations of 5 to 10 centimeters in Abitibi, while in Outaouais the snow will be mixed with freezing rain.

In the center of the province, gloomy weather will also be expected with rain in certain areas and snow in mountainous terrain, particularly in Quebec and Saguenay.

For Wednesday, the situation could improve since there will be no ice, but precipitation is expected in certain areas under strong winds.
