Marrakech: Arrest of a French national of Algerian origin who is the subject of an international arrest warrant (security source)

Marrakech – Elements reporting to the Marrakech police headquarters proceeded, Monday evening, on the basis of precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), to the arrest of a French national of Algerian origin who is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities, we learned from a security source.

The suspect, aged 38, was arrested in the Chrifia area of ​​Marrakech, specifies the same source, adding that the pointing operation in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that the individual is the subject of an international wanted notice under a red notice at the request of the national central office in , for his alleged involvement in a criminal network active in money laundering.

The accused was placed in police custody, pending referral to the competent public prosecutor’s office, indicates the same source, adding that the national central office “Interpol Office in Rabat”, reporting to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), was responsible for notifying its counterpart in of this arrest for the purposes of the extradition procedure.

This arrest is part of the strengthening of international cooperation relations in security areas, as well as part of the efforts of the Moroccan security services in tracking down people wanted at the international level for cases linked to cross-border crimes.
