In Geneva, these three researchers who hold high the banner of the clit

Céline Brockmann, the biologist, Jasmine Abdulcadir, the gynecologist, and Maéva Badré, the doctoral student, you met them in the introduction. They were dissecting the clitoris of a woman born in 1907 who donated her body to science. These three funny ladies are at the forefront of global research into the anatomy of the clitoris. In 2022, they launched a flagship project at the University of Geneva, aiming to explore the organ of pleasure from every angle. Understanding the sexual response, its sensitivity, its innervation and its vascularization… In short: how it works. Let’s get to know this trio of enthusiasts, who play a central role in this story.

First of all, Céline, the biologist. It was she who suggested this idea of exploration to the (male) editor-in-chief of Heidi.news. “With her, I have an ally, I can go there”I said to myself during our first meeting, at the beginning of summer 2023. She then received me at her home, in the lush garden of her family home in Bout-du-Monde – a district of Geneva with a name that does not not invented. At the entrance, she apologizes for the slight smell of manure emanating from the neighbor’s house, not enough to spoil the sunbathing and coffee on the terrace.
