The President of the Municipal Council of Tangier, Mounir Laymouri was elected, Monday, President of the Council of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima Group of Local Authorities for distribution.
The election of Mr. Laymouri, who obtained the majority of votes from the members delegated to the group, i.e. 148 out of 171, took place during a session chaired by the Wali of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, governor of the prefecture of Tangier-Assilah, Younes Tazi, in the presence of the governor of the province of Fahs-Anjra, Abdelkhalek Marzouki, indicates a press release of the commune of Tangier.

This session was also marked by the election of the four vice-presidents of the Council with a total of 158 votes. They are Mustapha El Bakkouri from the province of Tetouan, Mohamed Sefiani (province of Chefchaouen), Moumen Sbihi (province of Larache), and Farid El Boutaher (province of Al Hoceima).
The election was also carried out, by the majority of members present, of Abderrahman El Gouchi from the province of Ouezzane, secretary of the group, and Ahmed Halhoul from the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq deputy secretary of the council, adds the same source. The headquarters of the Group, created in accordance with the organic law relating to prefectures and provinces, is located in the municipality of Tangier, in accordance with the provisions of article 3 of the decision of the Minister of the Interior in this regard.
The group will be responsible for managing water and electricity distribution services and liquid sanitation, as well as contributing to the supply of these services to the rural world.
