Several injured in Hezbollah rocket fire; 250 projectiles were fired from Lebanon

Lebanese army: 1 soldier killed, 18 injured in IDF attack; Mikati: Direct and bloody message from Israel on ceasefire efforts

At least one soldier was killed and 18 others injured, some seriously, after an Israeli strike on a Lebanese army center in the town of al-Amiriya on the al-Qalila-Tyre road in southern Lebanon , according to the Lebanese army.

The attack caused serious damage to the installation, the army added in a message on the social network X.

The Israeli military says the incident is being verified. The IDF has assured that previous strikes against Lebanese troops were accidental and not a target in its campaign against the Lebanese Shiite terrorist group Hezbollah.

Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said in a statement that Israel had sent “a direct and bloody message rejecting all efforts to achieve a ceasefire, to strengthen the presence of the Lebanese army in the south and to implement United Nations Resolution 1701.

“This aggression is the business of the international community, which remains silent on what is happening in Lebanon,” Mikati added in his statement.

United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 demands that the Lebanese army be the sole armed force in southern Lebanon. This resolution has been largely unimplemented since its adoption in 2006, allowing Hezbollah to acquire a formidable cache of weapons and defensive capabilities, without UNIFIL observers or the Lebanese armed forces ( LAF) are prepared to oppose the terrorist group supported by Iran.

On October 8, 2023, Hezbollah began attacking Israeli communities and military posts along the border on an almost daily basis. Today, rocket fire has become widespread in northern and central Israel.
