Government election: live results

There are three of them running for a seat in the Jura Government. Pauline Godat (Les Vert-es), Stéphane Theurillat (Le Center) and Pascal Prince (HelvEthica) are targeting the seat of resigning minister Jacques Gerber (PLR). Supported by left-wing parties, Pauline Godat could impose a left-wing – and female – majority on the executive by adding a green seat to the two socialist seats. The environmentalist party would be represented for the first time in the Government. For his part, Stéphane Theurillat wishes to reconquer a second centrist seat, lost during the by-election in March 2020. Representative of the HelvEthica movement, Pascal Prince had collected less than 2% of the votes during the last federal elections. A possible second round is scheduled for December 15. /gtr

Nine municipalities have given initial results, including Boncourt, Châtillon and Les Genevez. The Center’s candidate, Stéphane Theurillat, is currently in the lead with 712 votes. He is followed by the Vert-es candidate, Pauline Godat, with 396 votes and the HelvEthica candidate, Pascal Prince, with 156 votes.

Polling stations closed at noon. The first results should not be long in coming. According to the state, all municipalities should have delivered their results by 4 p.m. To be elected, a candidate must obtain an absolute majority, i.e. 50% of the votes, plus one vote.
