Geneva Public Transport (TPG) will offer a new service next year that will smell good in summer. On Thursday, the authority announced the creation of a “beach line”. It will be numbered 29, and will run along the lake, from Creux de Genthod, on the right bank, to Bois-Caran (Colonge-Bellerive), on the left bank. The buses will thus serve several sites popular with swimmers and walkers in one go. The connection will be operational on weekends, until midnight, from May 2 to September 29.
With the entry into force of the new timetable on December 15, the TPG will also continue to strengthen their night service, which began a year ago. The measure was crowned with success, the operator rejoiced: “Attendance increased by 23% on weekends between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m.” The management also intends to enrich its morning offering during the week, from 5 a.m. Connections with the Léman Express network will be particularly affected. Furthermore, the speeds will increase for certain connections at Onex, in Lancy, in the Old Town, on part of the right bank, or even in the direction of the Salève cable car. Details of the planned changes are available on the TPG website.
