Escalation between Russia and Ukraine: Moscow allegedly fired an intercontinental missile

Published on November 21, 2024 at 1:09 p.m. / Modified on November 21, 2024 at 1:13 p.m.

On the morning of Wednesday, November 20, a certain nervousness reigned in kyiv’s diplomatic community. Several Western embassies, starting with that of the United States, have even decided to evacuate their employees because of “concrete information” about the imminence of a large-scale Russian strike on the city. Later in the day, GUR, the Ukrainian military intelligence service, attributed the rumors to Russian propaganda, urging Kievans not to panic. At the end of the day, in his daily address to the nation, President Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke of this threat. Not without irritation, affirming that this 1001e day of war is in no way different from all those since the invasion of the country. “These panic messages, this frenzy of rumors, all this only benefits Russia,” he said. “Take care of yourself, support our army and be particularly careful that no one manipulates your emotions for their own benefit,” concluded the Ukrainian head of state as night fell.
