Nearly 80 agents from the Joint Regional Squad (ERM) were deployed to carry out searches in a residence, garages, outbuildings and vehicles, according to a press release from the SQ. Investigators are seeking evidence linked to Satan’s Crew, which they suspect of engaging in drug trafficking and distribution.
Five members of the organization were on the scene when the police arrived, according to the SQ. One of them, a 41-year-old from Trois-Rivières, was arrested for possession of a handgun. He will appear Thursday at the Trois-Rivières courthouse. The police also seized jackets bearing the image of Satan’s Crew.
“We realize that the Satan’s Crew […] do business, they have links with the Outaouais region and other regions,” said Éloïse Cossette, spokesperson for the SQ.
The SQ carried out other searches linked to the investigation this fall, in 4 different regions of Quebec. ERM agents notably carried out searches on November 14 in businesses and residences in Gatineau. The ultimate goal of the investigation is to put an end to the activities of Satan’s Crew, emphasized Éloïse Cossette.
