Before the sharp rise in temperatures expected from the weekend, the cold falls on the Lorraine and snowfall are expected.

For the day of Thursday, November 21, Météo has placed the department of Vosges in orange snow-ice warning. The Meuse, Meurthe-et- and Moselle have been placed on yellow alert.

Drop in temperatures: up to – 6° felt Thursday

HAS Metz and to Verduna shower of rain accompanied by snow is announced this Wednesday evening by Météo France.

The next day, the weather will be generally cloudy and the temperatures felt will go, in the evening, up to – 4 ° in and , and – 6 ° in Verdun.

Tomorrow evening in the Vosges, a few flakes are expected in Épinal, Gérardmer or even La Bresse. The temperatures felt will be around – 6 °.

“Traffic conditions could be degraded”

What should you expect on the road network in Lorraine? “Traffic conditions could be degraded because of the risk of the presence of ice and snow on the tracks, especially at the start of the morning and at the end of the day,” warns the DIR Est.

Traffic difficulties are mainly expected in the Vosges : “The most significant disturbances will probably be observed on the Vosges network (RN57 and RN66) which accumulates both snow precipitation and steep slopes. »

Drive carefully with suitable tires

In view of the weather forecasts, it is likely that salting trucks and of snow removal circulate: “Users are advised not to overtake salting equipment, to travel with suitable tires and of ride carefully »recommends the DIR Est.

If the situation is not serious enough to encourage motorists to postpone their trips, the DIR Est advises them to monitor the weather forecast and the conditions de circulation on their journey (notably in the “Road in winter” section on Bison Futé): “There is always a risk that actual conditions deviate from forecasts and that the situation is deteriorating by tomorrow. »
