According to Libération which provides the information this Wednesday, the sulphurous Israeli businessman, awarded over-the-counter contracts in the building sector under the old regime, will have to give up his real estate project.
The affair had raised many questions. In 2022, the Sporting Club site, located by the sea, was allocated to Ron Yeffect under conditions considered disturbing. Worse still, this attribution encroached on the territory of a Senegalese entrepreneur, who, despite his multiple efforts, had encountered helplessness in the face of the protection enjoyed by the Israeli businessman.
On this site, covering an area of 10,000 m², Ron Yeffect planned to build luxury apartments with sea views, intended to be sold at high prices, according to the newspaper. But that was without taking into account the change of regime that took place on March 24. As soon as the first checks concerning certain important land allocations were made, the new authorities stopped the construction site. In addition, the lease, from which Ron Yeffect had benefited under controversial conditions, is currently being revoked.
Linked to a nebula surrounding the acquisition of “La Maison du Sénégal” in New York, Ron Yeffect, who was also honorary consul of Senegal in Tel Aviv, had also obtained contracts for the construction of university pavilions via his company DSC.
It should also be noted that the State has launched a vast offensive to recover several properties transferred in the form of long leases. These properties include:
-a building located at number 37 Avenue Pasteur in Dakar, integrated into land title no. 67/Dk,
-villa no. 6 in the Stèle Mermoz district in Dakar,
-as well as a building located in the Fann Résidence district, rue Félix David Diop.
