The city of Casablanca once again becomes the nerve center of automotive innovation with the 3rd edition of the “Moroccan Automotive Technologies” (MAT) Show. This major event, organized by the Groupement Interprofessionnel de l’Automobile au Maroc (GIPAM), took place from November 14 to 17 under the theme: “Transformation and revolution of the automobile repair and maintenance ecosystem in Morocco”.
An event at the heart of technological advances
With nearly 150 exhibitors and more than 12,000 visitors expected, the show highlights the latest technological advances in the sector. Professionals and enthusiasts meet there to discover the latest in spare parts and maintenance solutions.
During the inauguration, Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce, highlighted the positive dynamics of the automotive sector in Morocco. “The sector benefits from accelerated modernization and contributes to the country’s industrial autonomy,” he said.
He also welcomed the involvement of national actors, who strive to meet the needs of the local market while adopting international standards to improve the competitiveness of Moroccan products.
Train and raise awareness for a sustainable ecosystem
Mohamed El Housni, president of GIPAM, highlighted the importance of training professionals. “The show is a platform dedicated to increasing the skills of the automotive professions,” he said. Specialized workshops and training are offered to strengthen participants’ expertise and improve their qualifications.
The event also pays particular attention to road safety. Awareness initiatives aim to inform about the risks associated with the use of poor quality parts and to promote strict standards in the sector.
Support local production and “Made in Morocco”
Another priority of the show is to promote Moroccan products. The emphasis is on “Made in Morocco” to strengthen consumer confidence and encourage local production. “Our objective is to support the growth of the sector while ensuring increased competitiveness on the global market,” said Mr. El Housni.
Created in 2017, GIPAM brings together around sixty companies covering the entire value chain of the automotive sector, from manufacturers to repairers. This network aims to structure and modernize a strategic area for the Moroccan economy.
With clear ambitions and a strong desire to respond to global challenges, the MAT Show has established itself as an unmissable event for the national automotive ecosystem.
