Al Hoceima/INDH: Handover of 10 school buses for the benefit of several municipalities

Al Hoceima – The keys to 10 school transport buses were handed over on Monday in Al Hoceima, for the benefit of several municipalities in the province, on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Independence Day.

During this ceremony, held at the headquarters of the province of Al Hoceima, the governor of the province, Hassan Zitouni, handed over the keys to the school buses acquired within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH ) for the year 2024, for a total cost estimated at 3.8 million dirhams (MDH).

This initiative, which should benefit nearly 6,000 students per year, aims to contribute to efforts aimed at supporting children’s schooling, combating school dropouts and encouraging students from rural areas to continue their studies.

In this context, the INDH in the province of Al Hoceima has proceeded, since the launch of its third phase in 2019 until this year, to the acquisition of 51 school transport buses, for an overall cost of approximately 18.88 MDH, in order to strengthen the school transport fleet at the provincial level. This service has benefited approximately 25,200 students.

It should be noted that the provincial human development committee (CPDH) approved, for the year 2024 and in partnership with the provincial council, a project aimed at supporting the management of school transport in the province, with a contribution of the INDH of 3 MDH intended to cover the costs linked to this service.

In this wake, the provincial director of the Ministry of National Education, preschool and sports in Al Hoceima, Mouhcine El Marahi, underlined the importance of this initiative from which students of educational establishments in the different local authorities benefit, this which will help to combat school dropouts, facilitate access to schools, improve transport conditions for students and optimize their learning environment.

In a statement to MAP, Mr. El Marahi emphasized the particular attention paid by the INDH to the development of the school transport service, in order to support the schooling of students, particularly girls in rural areas, while by reducing the burden of expenses borne by families to enable their children to continue their studies.
