François Rebsamen will relinquish his post as mayor of

François Rebsamen will resign in a few days from his post as mayor of Dijon (Côte-d'Or), Bleu Bourgogne learned, Monday November 18. The councilor made his decision official in a press release addressed to the press. During the next municipal council meeting scheduled for November 25, he will propose electing his first deputy, Nathalie Koenders, to succeed him.

“I consider that the time has come for me to pass on. It is a long-considered, responsible and assumed choice, to make democracy breathe, and allow new talents to express themselves,” writes the former Minister of Labor (2014-2015). In the same press release addressed to the press, François Rebsamen specifies that he will remain president of Dijon Métropole, a position he has held since 2015, just like the position of mayor of Dijon which he will relinquish.

“François Rebsamen has once again reneged on one of his promises and betrayed the Dijon voters”reacted Emmanuel Bichot, president of the group “Act for Dijon” to the municipal council. “By declaring himself a candidate for a fourth term in January 2020, he assured that he intended to serve it until the end”writes the opposition municipal councilor in a press release.
