The beautiful northern Moroccan city of Al Hoceima now has its stadium which has nothing to envy of other large structures of its kind available in the Kingdom. Named the Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima, it will be officially opened this evening to host the match between Madagascar and the Comoros Islands, as part of the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (CAN).
This jewel of the national sports infrastructure, located in the commune of Aït Kamra, is designed and built to modern standards meeting the criteria for organizing international football events; the pitch, the locker rooms, the technical equipment, in particular the sound system, the lighting, the signaling systems, to name but a few, are installed according to the quality guarantee standards as required by FIFA.

Built as part of the “Al Hoceima, Manarat Al Moutawassit” spatial development program over an area of 20 hectares, the stadium meets, through its architecture and spatial distribution, international standards in terms of safety and comfort of players and spectators.
The regional director of the National Company for the Development and Management of Sports Equipment (Sonargess) in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Anas Jbilou, indicated, in a statement to MAP, that the Grand Al Hoceima stadium in Aït Kamra hosts its first match on Monday, which will pit two African teams against each other, as part of the CAN 2025 qualifiers.

With a capacity of 11,000 seats, this stadium has a high-quality natural grass pitch. It also includes modern technologies in lighting, sound, giant screens and electronic advertising panels.
