Dn an opinion requested by the Minister of Local Authorities, François Desquesnes, on the preliminary draft on the program decree in terms of local authorities, the Union of Walloon Cities and Communes (UVCW), at the head of which we nevertheless find a liberal (Anne Barzin), pulls no punches and targets her criticism on two main points: the end of the 1% increase in municipal funds, and the non-indexation of APE points. According to the UCVW, the first measure will constitute a shortfall of 251 million on the legislature, cutting the municipal fund by 4.8% of its financing by 2029, the second a shortfall of 208 million. In total, the effort that Walloon municipalities will have to bear is estimated by the UCVW at 458.6 million euros over the legislature!
