Rabat hosts the sixth edition of the Sanofi Diabetes Research Awards

Sanofi Maroc and the Moroccan Society of Endocrinology Diabetology Nutrition (SMEDIAN) celebrated on November 16, 2024 in Rabat, the awards ceremony of the sixth edition of the Sanofi Diabetes Research Prize.

Organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection as well as the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and falling within the framework of World Diabetes Day, this event The scientific objective is to contribute to the development of biomedical research in general and in diabetes in particular, in Morocco.

The Sanofi Diabetes Research Awards welcomed two new partners for this 2024 edition: the Moroccan Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology (SMEDIAP) and the Center for Innovation in e-Health of Mohammed V University (CIeS).
The scientific program of the ceremony was structured around 2 panels; Diabetes in schools: how to meet the challenge of raising awareness; Type 2 diabetes: therapeutic and technological developments for optimal patient care.

This year, 52 research projects were submitted to the jury made up of recognized experts. The University Hospital Centers (CHU), Military Hospitals and Universities of Agadir, Benguerir, Casablanca, Marrakech, Meknes, Oujda, Rabat and Tangier have transmitted high quality work.

The themes concern: diabetes in schools; diabetes and Ramadan; impacts on respiratory and cardiovascular functions; mental health of diabetic patients digitalization of therapeutic education and glycemic control and pregnancy.
