Two members of the district council, Amer El Fakiras president of the Authenticity and Modernity group and president of the financial and economic affairs committee within the council, as well asAdil Chahdimember of the Unified Socialist Party, recently sent a complaint to the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region.
In it, they request the opening of a audit of district budgets for the years 2023 and 2024, evoking a presumption of conflicts of interest and of malfunctions in the accounts.
The complaint also mentions that Abdelatif Nasri, second vice-president in charge of public works and green spaces, refused to participate in the deliberations of the commissions, the office, as well as the ordinary session of the council in September 2024.
After congratulating itself on its achievements “the fruit of effective, relevant projects with a strong impact on citizens”, and reiterating its commitment to “continue local development”, the presidency of the district of Ain Chock expressed in a response “his understanding” towards the behavior of Adil Chahdi, member of the PSU and the opposition. According to her, “his attitude is consistent with the approach followed by his party at the national, regional and local level, due to its known background and orientations.”
On the other hand, the presidency expressed its surprise and deplored the attitude of Amer El Fakir, president of the financial affairs committee and head of the PAM group. She stressed that this group is part of the leading coalition, represented by four members in the council office, and recalled that Amer El Fakir had participated in the deliberations and voted on the accounts from 2021 to 2025.
This contradictory behavior, according to the presidency, “raises many questions”, in particular as to whether it reflects the position of the PAM or whether it is a personal and isolated position. Clarification from the relevant party authorities is “necessary”, requested the presidency.
Concerning the repeated absence of Abdelatif Nasri, she replied that it was a false and unfounded allegation, because the vice-president concerned “was on sick leave and was absent during this period for reasons of imperative health.”
To clarify things, the district presidency decided to send a response to the Governor of Aïn Chock to clarify the points raised, and request an audit from the Regional Accounts Council on the management of the district and the projects concluded.
In addition, “a request for clarification” will be sent to the PAM concerning its official position in relation to the actions of its member, Amer El Fakir.
“A mid-term report will be presented by the end of the year,” he finally promised Mohamed Chafik Ibn Kiranpresident of the council of the district of Ain Chock.
