New model
Owners of a 2012 Mazda, we are thinking about getting a new car that is reliable. We are thinking of getting a Subaru product. Is this a good choice? Does this company offer hybrid cars?
Catherine J.
Subaru products are known to be reliable and robust over a period of seven to eight years. A good choice if you consider the BRZ, Crosstrek, Forester, Impreza or even the Outback. For the moment, the brand offers a fully electrified vehicle (Solterra), but no hybrid vehicle on the Canadian market. That said, the Forester will benefit from this two-headed engine (half-gasoline, half-electric) in the coming months.
Not for us
I saw the electric Honda e:Ny1 similar to the HR-V announced in a French newspaper. When will it arrive in Quebec? Will it have the same name (I’m thinking of Jazz in France which became Fit in Quebec)? Have you tried it?
Francine C.
For the moment, this vehicle does not appear in the plans of the North American subsidiary of Honda. The Japanese brand is targeting this vehicle in China, England and a number of European countries. Note that Honda is considering changing the name of this model very soon. Our understanding is that Honda is instead considering offering a hybrid version of the HR-V, but not a fully electrified version in the near future. To answer your last question, no, we haven’t tried it.
The right price
You indicate that dealers exaggerate in the price of their extras and I have no doubt about it. Are there places where you can have hood protective film installed at a fair price?
Jean-Pierre D.
As you can imagine, we cannot recommend one place over another, but know that these places exist. Several companies appear on the Internet and offer these protective films at, let’s say, more competitive prices.
Work tool
Can we expect the return of a van with a six-foot base bed?
Martin L.
The commercial success achieved by Ford with the Maverick has given ideas to the competition and everything suggests that certain manufacturers will respond in the coming months. Toyota is one of them. The Japanese brand, remember, presented a conceptual study of a compact van a year ago at the Tokyo Motor Show. On the other hand, everything suggests that none of these future models will benefit from such a large dumpster.
