Lekjaa: Morocco reaffirms its resilience in the face of fluctuating circumstances

The Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, affirmed, Friday in the House of Representatives, that despite global geostrategic tensions, generating economic uncertainty, “Morocco continues to demonstrate its capacity to adapt to economic circumstances. fluctuating, thus illustrating the resilience of its economic and social fabric.

In response to the interventions of deputies during a plenary session devoted to the discussion and vote on the finance bill (PLF) for the year 2025, Lekjaa stressed that the political character of this project lies in the balance between the constraints imposed by reality and the possible responses, noting that this approach is framed by constitutional dimensions, at the heart of which is the strategic role of the High Royal Guidelines, followed by that of the development model and the government program.

It is obvious that the High Royal Guidance plays a central role as guarantor and protector of the general orientation, whatever the emerging circumstances, he noted, highlighting the profound transformations accomplished under the reign of His Majesty. Majesty King Mohammed VI.

He also noted that this comes down to the place that Morocco now occupies on the international scene, as well as the overall level of modernization that the Kingdom has experienced, highlighting the strength of HM the King’s vision. , which serves as a reference for the PLF, alongside other reference elements such as the New development model, the government program, the necessary adjustments in the face of current internal and external transformations, as well as the emergence of unforeseen priorities, dictated by urgent exceptional circumstances.

In its report presented Thursday to the House of Representatives, during a plenary session devoted to the examination and vote of the first part of the PLF 2025, the Committee on Finance and Economic Development reported divergences among the deputies during discussions on this project. These debates revealed contrasting opinions regarding the assumptions underlying the project and the economic growth forecasts.

While some parliamentarians considered these assumptions to be “realistic and appropriate to the context”, others considered them “excessively optimistic and unrealistic”.

In this context, the report highlighted that some MPs expressed satisfaction with the government offer accompanying this bill, in particular its coherence and continuity with the government’s achievements during the first half of its mandate, as well as as its vigilance and prudence in the face of challenges, transforming them into real opportunities for inclusive development.

On the other hand, other deputies considered that the project does not meet expectations to restore confidence and that it does not adequately address current political and economic issues.
