A Brussels, cars have become systematically heavier and more bulky in recent years, according to a study by Brussels Mobility and Brussels Environment relayed by Litter this Friday. In figures: between 2013 and 2023, the mass of newly registered passenger cars in Brussels increased by 10%. Company cars are particularly targeted since, on average, significantly heavier (1,711 kg) than private cars (1,463 kg). Practical consequence: cars registered in Belgium since 2018 exceed on average 180 cm wide, a size incompatible with the dimensions of many parking spaces.
