Following the floods which devastated several regions of Spain, His Majesty King Mohammed VI gave His Highest Instructions to Minister of the Interior in order to speak on the telephone with his Spanish counterpart and inform him of the full disposition of the Morocco to dispatch rescue teams and to provide all necessary assistance to theSpain to deal with this natural disaster.
Thus, a Moroccan convoy exceptional, mobilizing 24 suction pumper trucks and 70 operators, arrived in Spain on Wednesday to support relief efforts and help the Valencia regionseriously affected by storm Dana.
This support demonstrates the firm determination of the Kingdom of Morocco to actively contribute to relief efforts in a spirit of mutual aid and fraternity with theSpainindicated the Moroccan ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich in a statement to MAP.
By this Royal commitment, embodied by the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VIthe Morocco reaffirms its unchanging attachment to the values of respect, friendship and active solidarity which constitute the very essence of the deep ties uniting the two nations, underlined the diplomat.
Ms. Benyaich also recalled that the Ministry of Foreign AffairsAfrican Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad also immediately mobilized to help Moroccans living in areas affected by the floods.
For the Moroccan diplomat, the surge of national solidarity with Spain found an echo in the ranks of the Moroccan community established in Spainwho reacted with exemplary mobilization to participate in relief operations in the disaster regions.
Ms. Benyaich took the opportunity to greet the Moroccan associations and the numerous volunteers whose concrete help and manifest solidarity cement the bonds of fraternity uniting the Moroccan and Spanish peoples.
