New settling of scores in Marseille: two men killed during a shooting in a bar in the northern districts, what we know

They were allegedly victims of gunshots in a bar on rue de la Carrière, in the 14th arrondissement of Marseille, reports The Parisian.

The two victims, unfavorably known to the police, died as a result of their gunshot wounds, this Thursday, November 14, 2024, around 7:45 p.m., specifies Southwest.

The gunman entered the bar alone and coldly shot the two men before fleeing. The drama is reminiscent of a settling of scores between rival gangs. These homicides could be linked to drug trafficking which is plaguing the Marseille city, underline the two media outlets. Both men were aged just under 30.

17 narchomicides in 2024

At the beginning of November, 17 narchomicides had been officially recorded by the prosecutor's office in Marseille, including one collateral victim.

Plan against drug trafficking

This new shooting comes less than a week after the trip of the Ministers of Justice and the Interior Didier Migaud and Bruno Retailleau to Marseille. The two politicians unveiled a plan against drug trafficking, established as “great national cause”. “The teams of the Paris prosecutor's office working on the fight against organized crime at the national level will be strengthened by 40%announced Didier Migaud. The workforce will be protected throughout the country and particularly in Marseille, and we will also strengthen the prosecutors who need it.” A bill will be studied from January 27 in the Senate.
