Prostate cancer: breaking taboos through theater in

60,000 new cases each year

Although therapeutic advances have reduced deaths, awareness of prostate cancer screening remains essential. THE Friday November 21, 2024a play called Radical will be played at the Darcy Comédie in with the aim of deconstructing the taboos around this disease and its treatments.

In Radicale, the author and actor David Frisman tells with humor and sensitivity the story of Paul, a man confronted with this illness. The narration is provided by Paul’s prostate itself, thus providing a offbeat and de-dramatized look on the side effects of treatment and the reappropriation of the body. This representation is intended to be a fun and emotional way of discussing the difficulties linked to the disease, while opening the discussion to the psychological and physical aspects of the disease. The evening will conclude with an exchange with specialist doctorsin order to promote screening and patient support. The event is free, but requires prior registration.
