Doha – A series of cultural and educational events and activities have been scheduled on the occasion of the celebration of the Qatar-Morocco Cultural Year 2024, at the initiative of the Qatar National Library and other institutions, including Qatar Museums.
These activities, including conferences, shows, debates and thematic exhibitions, which highlight the rich heritage of Qatar and Morocco, are in addition to the activities already scheduled as part of this event.
On this occasion, the National Library of Qatar announced that a reading session entitled “Let’s talk about Morocco!” will be organized on November 18 to discuss the history, arts, gastronomy and culture of the Kingdom.
The festivities of the Qatar Morocco cultural year will continue on November 26 at the Library with an exhibition on the Art of manuscript making, highlighting the traditions and ancestral techniques used for the manufacture of manuscript books in Morocco. Alongside this exhibition, a workshop will be held around the history of Moroccan calligraphy.
The National Library of Qatar also plans to organize an activity aimed at exploring the history and cultural importance of Moroccan tea, as well as the traditions, customs and social aspects relating to this iconic drink, in addition to its historical origins. and its preponderant place in Moroccan culture.
Furthermore, the Arab Museum of Modern Art will present a series of traveling exhibitions and family activities aimed at making art accessible to all, while highlighting the works of Moroccan artists on display.
In this context, the Museum will organize several workshops on November 23, 27 and 28, including “Blue City in Clay”, which invites participants to explore the rich and vivid blue colors of the city of Chefchaouen and “Textile threads in Morocco ”, which allows you to discover the rich traditions of Moroccan weaving.
The organization of the Qatar-Morocco Year of Culture 2024 is the result of a collaboration between leading institutions in Qatar and their partners in Morocco, with the support of the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, as well as the respective embassies of Qatar in Morocco and Morocco in Qatar.
