Dozens of people were arrested on the evening of Wednesday, November 13 in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, during a banned demonstration in favor of Palestine.
In the same city, we recall, violent clashes took place last week between residents of Amsterdam and supporters of an Israeli football team who removed the Palestinian flag hanging from a building in the city.
Protesters gathered on Dam Square in the city center of the Dutch capital, wearing keffiyehs and repeating slogans. The arrested protesters were taken to buses waiting nearby, some media reported.
This is the second demonstration in favor of Palestine organized despite a ban on gatherings in Amsterdam, after last week’s clashes.
Remember that during the night of November 7 to 8 following a Europa League match between Ajax Amsterdam and the Israeli team Maccabi Tel-Aviv, supporters of the latter team were chased and beaten in the streets of Amsterdam for committing anti-Palestinian acts and anti-Arab chants sung by Maccabi fans before the match kicked off.
