The question of absenteeism of parliamentarians is once again relevant on the occasion of the examination of the PLF2025the third of its kind for the Akhannouch government.
In the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives, we note, for the long marathon dedicated to PLF2025, the absence of 52% of elected officials during the work, i.e. more than 22 elected members out of the 44 members of this commission chaired by the RNIste Zaina Chahim.
According to an official report, 10% of the members of this same committee had apologized for their absence, or a little more than 4 deputies. In other words, those who did not provide a reason justifying their absence violated the legislation and in particular the amendments introduced to the internal regulations of the House of Representatives.
“There is practically no way to sanction absentees during the work of the standing committees,” laments a majority deputy for whom the publication of attendance records does not do much good either. “Political parties must assume their responsibilities by calling their elected officials to order,” says our interlocutor.
The opposition more assiduous!
Ultimately, the first part of PLF2025 was voted on by 37 deputies who were members of the said commission: 26 votes for and 11 against.
During this vote, parliamentary sources tell us, it was paradoxically the opposition which saved face with the presence of 19 of its representatives among elected representatives of the USFPof PJD and components of the left (PPS, PSU and FGD).
On the majority side, there are 11 deputies: 8 RNI3 PAM and… no elected official l’Istiqlalthe majority party.
In total, the work of this commission, in the continuous presence of ministers Nadia Fettah et Fouzi Lekjaalasted 8 days or 62 hours to hold 11 meetings.
