As part of the preparations for the early legislative elections on November 17, the governor of Diourbel, Ibrahima Fall, visited the three departments of the region. In Mbacké, he went to the district of Ndam, in which the commune of Touba Mosquée is located.
Welcomed by sub-prefect Abdoulaye Kharma, the governor observed first-hand the availability of electoral materials, such as ballots, ballot boxes, voting booths, among others. Mr. Fall also inquired about the progress of the installation of temporary shelters to house the polling stations, and judged the level of achievement “acceptable”.
At the end of his tour, he gave guarantees: “At the latest, tomorrow afternoon, all the temporary shelters will be completed and the partitions effective”, adding that, by Friday, all the electoral materials will be sent in the different voting places, reports LeSoleil-Digital.
On the security front, he announced that all measures had been taken to ensure a peaceful and transparent vote.
