Hezbollah strikes military bases, Israel bombs Beirut | Conflict in the Middle East

Lebanese Hezbollah intensified its attacks on Wednesday in several regions in Israel, notably reaching Tel Aviv.

Fighting is also raging in southern Lebanon, where the Israeli army announced that six soldiers had been killed, including an officer, bringing to 47 the number of its soldiers killed on Lebanese territory since the start of its ground invasion , on September 30.

Israeli radio said the clashes between Israeli soldiers and Hezbollah fighters lasted three hours, indicating that the wounded and dead were evacuated under Hezbollah fire.

Eight people killed in Lebanon

In Lebanon, bombings targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut on several occasions, while a separate strike against a densely populated town south of the capital left eight people dead, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

The Security Council of theHIM condemned on Wednesday the attacks in recent weeks against the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL), calling all parts to respect the security of the peacekeepers.

In a statement, Council members condemn several attacks targeting positions of the UNIFIL and injured several peacekeepers.

They do not name the authors of these incidentsbut cite the dates of several of them.

Like on October 29, when a rocket fired probably by Hezbollah or its allies hit the headquarters of the UNIFIL. Or on November 7, when five peacekeepers were injured in an Israeli strike and on November 8, when the UNIFIL accused the Israeli army of damaging one of its positions in an action described as deliberate and direct.
