5-1 success on Sunday at the Municipal Stadium against Thun. Arnaud Vialatte’s players scored four goals in overtime to qualify!
Sunday afternoon, in front of an enthusiastic crowd (900 spectators), the Yverdon Sport women’s team brilliantly won their place in the quarter-finals of the Swiss Cup by beating Thun with a score of 5-1 (1-1 in regular time). A great burst of energy, combativeness and passion allowed the Yverdonnaises to achieve a deserved victory. Second time in a row that Arnaud Vialatte’s players have eliminated a National League A team, after beating Rapperswil in the previous round.
On Sunday, the atmosphere was great. This was particularly the case thanks to the presence of numerous women’s clubs from the Neuchâtel region, who came to encourage the Yverdonnaises alongside local spectators. Their unfailing support helped make this day a moment filled with emotion. Kop14, the men’s team’s supporters group, also showed their support throughout the 120 minutes.
The team is now awaiting the draw for the next round, which will take place on Tuesday at noon. The competition will be tough in the quarter-finals: only six LNA teams, a first league team and our valiant Yverdonnais remain in the running.
