LBelgians are widely aware of the need to adapt their lifestyle due to global warming. This is shown by the seventh annual climate survey published by the EIB, the European Investment Bank. This survey was carried out last August among 24,000 people – including 1,008 Belgians – in the European Union and the United States.
As for the question of who should foot the bill for adapting to climate change, respondents first point the finger at the companies that contribute the most to climate change (35%). A quarter of them (26%) think that everyone should put their hand in the wallet equally while 19% favor a contribution from the richest.
