“We are going to propose a new, more inclusive social protection law”

Mouhamadou Madana Kane, head of the national list of “Dundu Leneen” for the early legislative elections on November 17, will not be a passive deputy, but a representative of the people who makes legislative proposals, in the sense of taking charge of concerns of the population.

In this sense, once elected, one of his first initiatives will be to propose a new, more inclusive social protection law, which will take into account all vulnerable social strata.

“As soon as we enter the National Assembly, we will propose a new, more inclusive social protection law. It will take into account all social strata, particularly those who are the most vulnerable,” he committed, during his visit to Podor, as part of the electoral campaign.

“People with reduced mobility have difficulty accessing certain public buildings, boarding public transport buses and accessing other places,” he adds.

Not without specifying that the current law relating to the promotion and protection of the rights of people living with disabilities presents “gaps”. Continuing, he also promises to pay particular attention to Koranic schools and daara learners.

“We will also improve the living conditions of learners in Koranic schools within the framework of this law,” maintains Mr. Kane. Who visited teachers and godmothers of Koranic schools and leaders of women’s and youth groups.

Furthermore, Madana Kane intends, once elected, to bring the concerns of young people to the National Assembly. Thus, he promises to make a bill, relating to “better management of issues related to youth employment and women’s financing”.

In Podor, the head of the list did not fail to comment on the situation arising from the devastating flood of the Senegal River. And this is to express all his emotion, but also and above all his compassion and solidarity, while inviting the government to assume its sovereign role, by properly assisting the victims.
