the Minister of Industry denounces “a real fiscal circus” after the examination of the revenue part in the Assembly

The government's initial text was largely reworked by the deputies during the examination of the first part of the state budget which they completed during the night.

Many additional taxes were voted by the deputies, “It’s quite regrettable and even very regrettable. We have witnessed a real tax circus”deplores the Minister of Industry, Marc Ferracci. The Minister of Budget and Public Accounts, Laurent Saint-Martin, even denounced on “irresponsibility” of the New Popular Front and the National Rally. For his part, Marc Ferracci pointed out “tax increases of 35 billion euros, with spending cuts, like our contribution to the European Union”. According to him, these “measures are in contradiction and in total contravention of international conventions. Concretely, we have a budget which leads us to leave Europe”said the Minister of Industry.

The text must be validated by a vote of deputies on Tuesday. If it were to be rejected, it would then be sent to the Senate in its initial version. LR and Renaissance deputies ask Michel Barnier to whistle the end of recess and activate 49.3. “I am not preempting what the outcome of the vote will be, since, next Tuesday, the National Assembly will have to decide on this first part. I am not going to say what the vote of Parliament will be, but it is obviously very difficult to support such a budget”estimated the minister. Marc Ferracci hopes that “other equilibria [puissent] be found” during the parliamentary debate in the Senate. “I also expect things to evolve at that time,” he added.
