News regarding Neymar’s injury

Brazilian striker Neymar suffers from a torn right hamstring tendon and will be out between four and six weeks, his Saudi club Al Hilal announced on Wednesday.

“He will follow a treatment and rehabilitation program which will last four to six weeks,” Al Hilal said on his account on the social network X.

Club coach Jorge Jesus announced earlier in the week Neymar’s absence from training for at least the next two weeks due to his injury.

The Brazilian came on as a substitute in the 58th minute during the Asian Champions League match against Iranian team Esteghlal (3-0) at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. However, Brazil’s all-time leading scorer left the field in the 86th minute, limping with an apparent strain in his right leg. The scan revealed a torn tendon.

The Brazilian star (32 years old) injured his cruciate ligament and meniscus on October 17, 2023 with Brazil in a qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup against Uruguay.

He played again for the first time in official competition on October 21, coming on in the 77th minute against Al-Ain, in the United Arab Emirates, still in the Asian Champions League.
