German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Thursday appointed one of his close advisors, Jörg Kukies, to the post of Minister of Finance, AFP learned from a government source. Mr. Scholz had dismissed the holder of this portfolio, the liberal Christian Lindner, the day before.
