The Dépistafest festival, organized by Club Sexu, is being held until June 16, throughout Quebec, including here in Estrie.
The event aims to raise awareness among young people aged 18 to 35 about sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STIs) and the importance of getting tested.
According to spokesperson Morag Bosom, the organization notes that all age groups can be affected by sexually transmitted and blood-borne infectionsSTBBI. She also notes a certain resurgence since the COVID-19 pandemic due to the cessation of services. She specifies that people have stopped getting tested.
“ If we have concerns, we must go and get tested. However, we recommend routine screening for prevention. You should not wait for symptoms to appear. »
People who wish to make an appointment to be tested can do so at the approximately 70 partner clinics in the province.
