Police officer Abdoulaye Sow confesses everything to his superiors, it smells like a scorch in the Ameth Ndoye affair

It really smells like a scorch for police officer Abdoulaye Sow. Placed under strict arrest in the case of “lack of driving license” incriminating columnist Ameth Ndoye, the sleuth who works at the 4th arrondissement police station was indicted and sent to Rebeuss prison. He will face the criminal judge this morning.

Police officer at the 4th arrondissement police station in the Medina, Abdoulaye Sow is in deep trouble. The latest developments in this so-called “Ameth Ndoye” affair complicate things for him. Incriminated in the “no driving license” case, which got the famous columnist into trouble, police officer A. Sow was placed in detention. He faced the public prosecutor last Friday, who placed him under arrest. According to our colleagues at The Observerthe Medina bloodhound will be judged this Monday morning at the Dakar high court. The analysis of the legal proceedings carried out against the police officer A. Sow demonstrates a direct causal link between this procedure and the legal disputes for “lack of license, forgery and use of forgery”, which led to the indictment by A. Ndoye. He will have to explain this morning before the criminal judge of the Dakar high court on the facts held against him.

The Observer highlights the nebulous contours of this double procedure, made known by the arrest, on October 24, of Ameth Ndoye, picked up by the pandores of the Faidherbe research brigade, in execution of a wanted notice issued by their colleagues from the Sébikotane brigade, following a traffic accident involving A. Ndoye, whose vehicle hit a motorcyclist.

According to our colleagues, Ameth Ndoye had justified the non-presentation of his driving license to the investigating gendarmes by the fact that this precious sesame was in the hands of a police officer who had checked it at the Béthio Thioune roundabout in Mermoz. To attest to this, he presented the certificate issued by the agent in question, officiating at the Medina police station. During a press briefing, co-organized with journalist Cheikh Yérim Seck and other members of a newly created movement, the statement was publicly exposed.

Directly concerned by the allegations made in this case, the 4th arrondissement police station, in agreement with the senior hierarchy of the National Police, decided to clarify this nebula which “casts discredit on the institution”. Commissioner Sarr of the Medina therefore launched an internal investigation. According to The Observerthe head of the Medina police initially summoned all the elements of his research brigade. The hearing was met with unanimous denials from the agents on this matter. A second interview did not identify the suspect. Among the arguments put forward by his colleagues to refute the facts, agent Sow provided a solid reason: “I did not work on the day the certificate served to A. Ndoye was issued. » Commissioner Sarr, who wanted to shed light on this affair, continued the investigations (which he kept secret) and proceeded to eliminate suspects through cross-checking. This careful approach allowed the chief investigator to focus his attention on agent A. Sow.

Subjected to a barrage of questions based on incriminating evidence, the suspect agent finally broke down. He confessed and declared: “It was I who issued the certificate. » It was then that he explained the circumstances of the issuance of this famous certificate. During his confession, agent A. Sow, who resides in Rufisque, revealed that it all started the day his friend and neighbor in Rufisque contacted him to issue a false certificate of control of a motorist. This neighbor, he said, is friends with Ameth Ndoye. It is in this context that agent A. Sow, then at home in Rufisque, established the certificate in question. However, he refrained from mentioning the name of the beneficiary as well as his license number. “Analysis of the certificate showed a notable difference between the agent’s initial writings and those mentioning the name and license number,” reveal our interlocutors. Which will be confirmed by Agent Sow. Confession being the queen of proof, he was notified of his rigorous arrest. After informing the senior police hierarchy and the public prosecutor, agent Abdoulaye Sow was taken to the Abdou Diassé police camp to serve 10 days of rigorous arrest.
