Anta Babacar Ngom, Samm Sa Kaddu Coalition: “I found in Sédhiou the misery that I had left there”

XALIMANEWS: (Lesoleil): Anta Babacar Ngom, candidate for the “Samm Sa Kaddu” list, deplored, last Saturday, the social and economic situation in the Sédhiou region. Arriving in the afternoon, with a long caravan which crossed the entire city, before ending up at the market, Anta Babacar Ngom, who was accompanied by Pape Djibril Fall and Thierno Bocoum, declared: “I found to Sédhiou the misery that I had left there. Opening up, the lack of employment for young people, the difficulties faced by women, the problem of education, training, all this remains a reality and yet there are advantages,” she underlined.

Sédhiou is certainly a region full of strong natural resources, recalled Anta Babacar Ngom, but all this requires courage and work in silence. The former presidential candidate also described the political vision recently proposed by Ousmane Sonko’s government as insufficient. “They declined a vision, but it is not enough for us, because it lacks ambition. Senegal must go further than this 2050 objective,” she declared.

Continuing her remarks, she points the finger at her supporters: “You will be 60 years old in 2050. You, the children, who are looking at me, you will be 40 years old in 2050. You don’t have anything to eat this evening, they say to wait until 2050.” The candidate asked voters to vote for their coalition, “Samm Sa Kaddu”, so that it forces the government to respect “the commitment, the promise made during the presidential campaign”. She challenged this idea according to which if the opposition holds the majority in the National Assembly, it will block the government in these initiatives. For Anta Babacar Ngom, it is incompatible to govern and control oneself.
