Invited a few days ago by the Swiss Forum for International Politics in Geneva, the secretary general of the World Islamic League, Mohammad Abdulkarim Alissa, spoke on the dialogue of civilizations. The opportunity for the former Saudi Minister of Justice to recall that the League is one of the two major organizations in the Muslim world with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation which also has its headquarters in Saudi Arabia.
On the sidelines of this conference, Mohammad Abdulkarim Alissa confirms Temps that an employee of the Petit-Saconnnex mosque, of which he chairs the board of directors, was fired at the start of the year after the discovery of her report in the S file in neighboring France. Likewise, an imam who made a political speech on Palestine the day after the massacre of October 7, 2023 was banned from giving a sermon. The governance of Geneva’s main mosque should be transformed with the departure of its current director and the resignation of three members of the Islamic Cultural Foundation which ensures its financing. However, no Swiss entity has met the criteria for taking over the mosque, as the Secretary General explains in this exclusive interview.
