: Yverdon did not exist in Lugano and logically bows

It only took five days for the confidence accumulated by Yverdon Sport over the past month to disappear. After the slap received at home by Lausanne-Sport on Tuesday, the Greens conceded a second consecutive defeat to Lugano, this Sunday at the end of the 13th day of the Super League (2-0).

If their season will not be judged on these two missteps, logical given the form of the opponents, they leave Alessandro Mangiarratti’s team in the middle of the table (8th). Neither close to the precipice (7 points ahead of the red lantern, Winterthur), nor at the gates of the top 6 (5 lengths behind the LS, winner of the Lake Geneva derby earlier).

Only one shot on target

In Ticino, the -Vaudois hardly existed. Deprived of the ball (38% possession), they only had one opportunity, on a lofted header from Marley Aké slammed above the crossbar by Amir Saipi (51st). Their one and only shot on target of the match, by the way. Insufficient to hope to leave with a positive result.

Especially since they did nothing on the other side to avoid conceding a goal. Guilty of a slip at midfield, Mauro Rodrigues offered the ball to Anto Grgic who, with one touch, found Shkelqim Vladi at 20 meters. The latter deviated from a clever backheel for Renato Steffen, merciless in front of Paul Bernardoni (36th).

Bernardoni delays deadline

Imperial ahead of Ignacio Aliseda (41st) and especially Hadj Mahmoud, author of a spectacular acrobatic return (68th), the French goalkeeper delayed the break for a long time. This ended up falling as the last quarter of an hour approached: after playing William Le Pogam on the left side, Mattia Zanotti entered the area and crossed at the far post towards Aliseda, who threw himself to push the ball into the back of the net (72nd). The chips were down.

The next match does not necessarily herald better days for the Nord-Vaudois since they will face Basel (4th) on the next day.
