In this Finistère company in Landeleau, we have been manufacturing tiny houses for 10 years. Despite administrative constraints, these small wooden houses, often on trailers, are becoming increasingly popular. A lifestyle full of sobriety and minimalism is the reason for this light and reversible habitat. This company, created 10 years ago, made no mistake: three quarters of the tiny houses built here will be main homes: “C“is a whole philosophy of life change, of resilience, a whole environmental ethic which consists of moving towards a more reasonable habitat, designed to escape this consumerist logic of society”according to Matthieu Millet, the co-manager of Ty Rodù.
A philosophy that sells. The international market for tiny houses is estimated at more than 5 billion euros for the year 2023. Here, the construction of tiny houses represents 80% of the activity alongside classic framing. “Au At the beginning, we were two partners. We built two tiny houses the first year. Today, there are eight of us in the company and we build eight small homes per year.” concludes Matthieu Millet.
The company’s order book is full until next year. With a significant argument: the cost, cheaper than traditional housing. You need to count between €65 and €80,000 for a tiny house.
